Persistence pays off — I had my old business card returned to me while signing off on a project we just completed at a large Whangārei business.
From the age of the card, I had been approaching the CEO for over five years before he decided he trusted me with looking after his business.
The risk wheel still holds up
On the back of my card was the risk wheel — and it’s amazing that everything on it is still valid today. The big change is that “Antivirus” has been replaced with lots of acronyms like EDR (endpoint detection & response), MDR (managed detection & response) & ITDR (identity threat detection & response) as security gets more layered.
What the project delivered
- Replaced an old firewall
- Moved the server to the cloud
- Replaced old antivirus with the new layered security stack
- Set up backup of the cloud
- Retired old Windows 10 devices
Staff no longer have to VPN from around NZ — files are based in the cloud and accessible anywhere.
If your IT is overdue the same overhaul, let’s talk.
